Our 2020 ESG report was created in accordance with the international reporting standard Global Reporting Initiative, in the Core compliance option. Additionally, the Report includes TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) indicators, as well as SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation) as well as company indicators. The report also includes references to the ESG Reporting Guidelines of the Stock Exchange (WSE) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The Report also indicates examples of compliance with and implementation of the 10 Principles of the Global Compact, as well as a reference to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report includes all entities included in the Allegro.eu consolidated annual report, i.e. Allegro.pl, Ceneo and eBilet.pl. The reports are prepared on an annual basis. The information contained in this report covers the period from January 1 2020 to December 31, 2020 and describes the status at the end of the year (in isolated cases, indicated in the report, specific information may refer to a different period). The data we collect comes from all our offices: Poznań, Kraków, Wrocław, Warsaw, Toruń and Błonie. This year’s report uses a different approach to measuring greenhouse gas emissions than in previous years. The results concerning greenhouse gas emissions presented in the previous report were also recalculated. The results presented in the report published in 2020 and in this report may, therefore, differ in this respect.

In the process of working on the report for 2020, the project team responsible for putting the document together organized two workshops within the organization. During the meetings attended by over 30 people in total, the participants defined:

  1. Allegro’s key stakeholder
  2. Key topics for Allegro, which were defined along two categories:
    1. impact – what is the impact of Allegro’s activity on a given issue
    2. relevance – to what extent a given topic is relevant to Allegro’s activities

Based on the results of the workshop and additional consultations within the project team, an Allegro stakeholder matrix was created.

We asked our stakeholders to complete a survey. We asked about the Allegro impact assessment on selected issues and the assessment of the relevance of specific topics for our company. 92 people completed the questionnaire. Based on stakeholder responses, we developed our materiality matrix.

The structure of the report is in line with our new Sustainable Development Strategy for 2020-2023. The individual key topics are described in relation to the four pillars of our strategy.

The process of strategy creation

Our CSR Sustainability Strategy was developed through a broad dialogue and commitment at the highest level, as well with the involvement of managers responsible for particular areas.

Work on the strategy lasted several months, during which extensive consultations were held, including meetings with representatives of individual business areas (CX, DEX, HR, CSO, PR, Public Affairs and other departments), as well as workshops, analysis and review of the document.

The strategy is monitored on a regular basis and the effects of its implementation are presented to the Board of Directors. The results of the implementation are presented in annual reports containing information on sustainable development. The strategy was discussed and adopted by the Allegro.eu Board of Directors during a meeting attended by representatives of the CSR & Sustainability team.

The most effective business strategies combine both business goals and environmental impact. When creating a strategy, Allegro set itself the following goals:

  • arrange internal activities and define directions and goals for the near future
  • join the implementation of the environmental transformation plan announced under the European Green Deal and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals
  • support customers in making responsible choices and purchases as well as reducing their carbon footprint during the delivery of products. Also, supporting sellers in areas related to sustainable development,
  • education of current and future entrepreneurs as well as support for SMEs
  • introduce a climate agenda in the supply chain and in the supply of products

Measuring and disclosing the performance, risks and control of ESG is essential to gain stakeholder trust and maximize market value.
